Hello to all of you Electronic Possums out there! I’m a Melbournian; born and bred in the burbs. When I was a kid my suburb was referred to as the sticks, but its actually inner Melbourne now. I live with my hubby and kids within five kilometers of where I grew up. I refuse to admit that I’ve hit middle age because I promised my kids that I’d live until the age of 100. It therefore goes without saying that the early forties is NOT middle aged! But I do identify with people who have hit middle age (poor things). I have all the right credentials to qualify for it actually: marriage crisis, self crisis; rethinking work, life, parenting, community. I’m now studying full time, I’ve given up drinking during the week (only to find that I now binge-drink on weekends), I’ve taken up surfing and slalom kayaking, I go into melt down when young men pay me attention, I’m becoming a conference junkie and discovering travel, I’m rediscovering myself as a sexual being… and I’ve taken to blogging like a duck to water.
